The Sibley Guide to Birds – Second Edition

I’m not sure I could say I’ve “read” the entire Sibley Guide to Birds, but I’ve managed at least half of it. And there is no other book I pick up so frequently. It’s not a field guide by any means, way too heavy, but if you look closely at pictures of us around camp you’ll often see this in the background. It’s usually either on the picnic table or in the driver’s seat in the bus, depending on the weather. And yes, mine has taken some abuse, but it’s still holding up remarkably well considering.

If you have any interest in identifying or learning more about birds this is the book to get, though I suggest also picking up a smaller (perhaps more regional) field guide to carry with you.
