The bodies at Pompeii left hollow outlines in the ash as they decayed over the years, pour in plaster, excavate around it and you have a statue of what the person looked like when they died. bones and all. creepy.

Pompeii's baths are still use by a number of wild dogs that escape the midday heat for the cooler bath areas.
